Sorrelstar sat at the opening of her den watching the sky thoughfully. It was warm and sultry. The sun had a strange affect on the cats making them sluggish and drowsy. Sorrelstar yawned dozing just a bit.

Falconkit creeped around behind Sorrelstar. Nothing, not even the heat, could slow him down. He was practicing his stalking. He walked, belly low to the ground, as close as he could get. Then he POUNCED!

Sorrelstar whipped around pushing Falconkit to the ground with her paw. "Good on. YOu almost got me." Sorrelstar laughed. "The heat is so intense it makes me laxy."

"Why's the heat make ya lazy?" Falconkit asked. Then without waiting for a response he said, "I caught a mouse. wanna see?"

"It makes us adults sleepy. Sure." Sorrelstar laughed. She loved how energetic kits where. Sorrelstar stretched yawning.

"Yay! Yay!," he exclaimed and ran off to get his mouse. He came out of the Nursery strutting proudly with a vole hanging from his jaws.

"Nice one. Thats a vole, looks a lot like mouse doesn't it?" Sorrel asked impressed.
OOC: I've seen a vole my cat left it on my porch.

OCC: eww... lol. IC: Sapphirepool padded into the den in search of Falconkit. She was supposed to be watching him but he had wandered off while she was at the fresh kill pile. "There you are," she said to him in a kind, loving voice. "I've been looking for you." |

Falconkit dropped the vole and bounded around in a circle. "I was showin' Sorrelstar the mouse i caught. I mean the v...vo... what was it again Sorrelstar?"

OOC: It was creepy looking at first. It looked like a cross between a mouse and a rat. LOL.
"Vole." Sorrelstar chukled. "He did a great job. It's such a hot day today it's hard to move with the energy the young kits and apprentices have." Sorrelstar smiled optimisticly.

She looked up at Sorrelstar and said quickly," I'm sorry! If Falconkit is bothering you I could take him out somewhere. I don't mind the heat all too much." |

"Vole!" Falconkit said. He started to prance in a circle around his catch. "I caught a vole! I caught a vole1" he started chanting.

"Agreed," Sapphirepool said. She let out a shallow yawn and sat on her haunches. "They are wonderful." Her blue eyes sparkled while she watched Falconkit prance around in circles.

"Depends on taste really most cats like I like vole but it's best when thick and plump." Sorrelstar smiled licking her chops. "You can almost smell it now." She sighed. "Speaking of I better get something to eat I haven't eaten in a while. "

Sapphirepool nodded. "I'll get it if you like. I really have nothing to do around here." She looked and Falconkit and tapped his nose. "If you're gonna eat it you better do it fast or it'll taste like crow-food." |

Falconkit looked back at the vole. "I'll give it to the elders!" he exclaimed excitedly. he picked it up in his mouth and pranced off to the elders den.
